Bumpa is building the infrastructure to power digital commerce for African sellers. We believe that African MSMEs have the right to participate fully in the global economy, hence our mission is to make available no-code commerce services to ensure that all sellers, regardless of background or size, have access to affordable, convenient, and secure products and services to take control of their business.

We're looking for smart, skilled, and entrepreneur-minded people to join our very energetic team on this journey to change how commerce is done in Africa.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the product and design teams to identify and plan for new features
• Write tests and documentation for the existing codebase
• Interpret designs and prototypes into mobile (React Native) applications
• Participate in code reviews and give actionable feedback

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of the React Native framework
• 2+ years of demonstrable experience
• Have two or more iOS/Android apps developed with React Native. Either deployed on the App Store/Google Play Store or available on Github
• Extensive knowledge of ReactJS, Expo, Redux, and at least one other programming language
• Experience with Test-Driven Development
• Strong understanding of Object-oriented design patterns
• Understanding of the Agile development life-cycle
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to interpret and follow technical plans
• Experience with automated test and deployment

Nice to have

1. Knowledge of other languages/frameworks (Flutter, native Android/iOS - Java/Kotlin/Swift/Objective-C, etc)
2. Experience working with and integrating 3rd party APIs and Libraries
